i2i is a lounge chair designed to foster collaboration.
Collaborative work often happens in spaces designed for comfort and connection, where individuals can easily interact with one another. The i2i chair was specifically created to enhance collaboration by enabling users to maintain both eye-to-eye and eye-to-information contact. This is made possible by its unique dual swivel mechanism, which promotes engagement throughout collaborative sessions.
The design of the i2i chair was guided by three key observations, which informed Steelcase’s insights:
- Collaboration is time-intensive.
- People typically do not adjust their chairs during collaborative activities.
- Posture changes naturally occur as people collaborate.
