Mesa County School District 51 hosted their second annual Elevate Summit July 31 and August 1 2017, at the Two Rivers Convention Center. Over 600 educators and administrators attended from across the Western Slope including Glenwood Springs and Montrose.
The convention featured two full days of learning opportunities for educators interested in Performance Based Learning. Following the tenets of the district’s vision to Engage, Equip, and Empower conference sessions were designed to help educators learn ways to:
- Engage learners by laying a cultural foundation in the classroom that supports academic and social and emotional learning, self-awareness, self-management, and fosters a growth mindset that anyone can learn anything with enough time and effort.
- Equip learning environments with a shared vision for success, high expectations, and effective feedback cycles.
- Empower students to help shape their own learning and use student voice, assessment data, and content standards to inform instruction.
